Executive Director of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Anthony Regisford says there is a need for better structure in the way businesses here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are organized.
There have been calls by some persons for businesses in Kingstown to open on Sundays when cruise ships are in Port Kingstown.
However, Mr. Regisford in addressing the launch on Wednesday January 3, of the 2018 Best of SVG campaign said that there is a need to identify what are the interests of the passengers who come off the cruise ships on Sundays.
Mr. Regisford noted that those interests may not readily include buying commodities such as a t-shit, key ring or souvenir; rather they may want to buy an experience, while St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Mr. Regisford expressed hope that the Best of SVG campaign may be able to give rise to a situation whereby persons can offer on sale Vincentian cuisine and other local products in a structured manner or setting that would be attractive to cruise ship passengers arriving here particularly on Sundays.
