The New Democratic Party (NDP) expresses congratulations to the students who were successful in this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations and the Certificate of Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).

The party said in a statement that “we know the students worked very hard in preparing for the exams, and that they relied on the support of their parents, guardians, teachers and friends. We fully appreciate that preparing these students is not without its challenges. We commend your efforts and applaud your success in surmounting the obstacles in school and the everyday social ills you encountered.”

It encouraged the students who sat the examinations, to stay focused and determined as they go further in their education or enter the job market.

“Nothing good comes easy! However, a good education, along with discipline and perseverance, will help you to secure a brighter future. This, in turn, will create a better, prosperous nation,” the statement added.

President of the NDP, Dr. Godwin Friday, in commenting of the CSEC and CAPE results said, “I have congratulated many students personally and have encouraged them to keep striving for the best in their lives. To those who were not successful or did not do as well as they had hoped to do in the exams, I encourage you not to give up.”

He added that while “We are aware that the education system is not without its shortcomings and challenges and we in the NDP stand ready to create the enabling environment that will provide all students with the opportunity to realize their potential more effectively, through traditional academic courses and innovative skills-related programs.”
