A National Carolling Contest is among the major activities planned for this year’s Christmas/Nine Mornings Festivities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday December 19, 2018 from 7:00pm at the Botanical Gardens.
It will form part of the Nine Nights activities at the Botanical Gardens.
Nine groups inclusive of the top 3 winners in this year’s Nine Mornings community carolling competition, five firms and one radio station are expected to participate in the competition.
Orandi ‘Bomani’ Charles, assistant coordinator of the creative industries within the Department of Culture said the groups will challenge each other for a cash prize of EC$3, 000.
Speaking on Saturday at a meeting held at the Peace Memorial Hall, hosted by the National Nine Mornings Committee, Mr. Charles extended a special invitation for Members of Parliament to form a group to make a special guest appearance at the National Carolling Contest.
He also issued an appeal for persons to make a special effort to attend the upcoming event.
