The MV Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book shop, departed Port Kingstown early this morning, after having been here for approximately fourteen days.

MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA ships, a non-profit organisation based in Germany which operates ships that sail around the world to bring knowledge, help and hope.

The ship with an expanded selection of over 5,000 titles at affordable prices was opened to the Vincentian public from November 21 through December 3.

On the weekend, a very large number of Vincentians visited the ship bringing the total visits to about 48,496 up to Saturday, according to one source.

Prior to this visit, the organization’s vessels made a total of 11 visits to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with the last port call in Kingstown having been in 2009.

On Sunday December 3, crew members of the Logos Hope dressed in their national costumes, participated in a parade of nations as part of the lighted street parade for the official launch of the Christmas Nine Mornings Festival.

Having departed St. Vincent, the Logos Hope is headed for Grenada where it will be from December 6 to 11.
