A man who was shot last week died in hospital on Monday morning, police said, bringing this year’s murder count in The Bahamas to 127, tied with the record set in 2011.

In an unrelated matter, police said another man was shot and killed after 2 am on Monday.

According to Caribbean News Now, Chief Superintendent Paul Rolle, head of the Central Detective Unit, said gang violence is a major concern for police, specifically turf wars where people fight over territories to sell drugs.
