Minister of Education, the Hon. St. Clair Prince, has revealed that the Ministry has commenced a process to review the Primary School’s Standardized Booklist.

Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday February 6th, Minister Prince said the objective of the review is to determine the reasonable number of texts, used by the students in the classroom.

Minister Prince said the decision was made by the Ministry – following concerns by parents and others, that Primary School students are taking too many books to their classrooms.

Minister Prince said the 120 teachers were appointed to the post of teacher 5, as of January 1st 2019, as compared to 103 teachers who were appointed during the same period in 2017.

This he said is a continued promise by the Ministry, to appoint teachers on a phased basis, to the position of Teacher 5.
