The Hon. St. Clair Prince, Minister of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs along with Parliamentary Secretary of the same ministry, Deborah Charles, accompanied by ministry officials have begun a series of school visits.

The team started with schools at North Windward on Tuesday January 12th, visiting schools between Fancy and Sandy Bay.

Yesterday they visited schools in the Marriaqua area.

The visits are intended for the familiarization of the new Education minister and the Parliamentary Secretary with principals, teachers and students.

According to Minister Prince it is important to learn from school principals as they exercise their role as instructional leaders and manage the day-to-day operation of their schools.

He added that great school leaders are important to the delivery of high quality education, and that teachers must feel supported and empowered in their work, in order to give students the chance to reach their full potential.

According to ministry officials there will be more visits in the coming weeks as it is the intention of the minister and permanent secretary to visit all schools throughout the country.
