Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Hon. Luke Browne, says the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) has a very good record in the delivery of water to all segments and groupings of the local population.

He made the comment in his message to mark International World Water Day 2016, which is being observed today March 22nd.

Minister Browne noted that at present the CWSA supplies running water to 98% of households, with the actual number of households served by this statutory corporation having moved from 24,000 in 2002 to 38,000 in 2016.

The theme for World Water Day 2016 is “Water and Jobs,” and Minister Browne said this theme speaks directly to the fact that many persons in the world are employed in the water supply sector, and that nearly all jobs depend on the availability of freshwater.
