This country’s Minister of Finance the Hon. Camillo Gonsalves, is currently in New York attending the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council’s fourth Forum on Financing for Development Follow-up.

The forum which runs from Monday April 15th to the 18th was called as part of the outcome from the Third International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD3), which concluded with the adoption of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda.

In his presentation, Minister Gonsalves said Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is honored to participate in the Forum and he is pleased that it takes place under the auspices of Her Excellency Inga Rhonda King, the 74th President of the ECOSOC and Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – the smallest nation ever to assume the presidency of this pivotal body.

The Finance Minister added that 2019 marks 50 years since the World Bank’s Report of the Commission on International Development, which first mooted the target of developed countries providing 0.7% of their Gross National Product for Official Development Assistance.
