Several activities are set to take place at the Argyle International Airport (AIA) over the coming days as preparations continue for the official opening of the airport on Tuesday February 14, 2017.

Information received from the Office of the Prime Minister indicates that a testing of lights and systems at the Control Tower will be done on Thursday February 2nd at 6:00pm, while a Full Emergency Exercise is scheduled for this Saturday, February 4, at 3:00pm. It will be followed by a Testing of Systems including the Domestic Terminal –on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 9:00 am.

The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority (ECCAA) will conduct an Inspection of the Hanger to be operated by Mustique Airways on February 11 or 12.

And a one week of training for the various agents through the Ministry of Health sponsored by Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) in Emergency Systems (Mass Consultancy) will also be conducted.

The travelling public is asked to note that the E.T. Joshua Airport at Arnos Vale will be closed as of midnight February 13, 2017.

Ferrying of LIAT Aircraft from E.T. Joshua Airport to AIA will be done on the evening of February 13. Aircraft will leave AIA on February 14, as Liat flight 560, estimated time of departure is 6:45am.

Full operation of the Argyle International Airport including travel to the Grenadines through SVG Air and Mustique Airways will also begin on February 14, at 6:45am.
