Kristian ‘Lil Kris’ Christopher of the Layou Government has retained the title in the Primary School category of the Junior Calypso competition held yesterday July 4, at the Victoria Park.

‘Lil Kris’ got the judges nod after a sterling performance of his song “Celebrating 40 years”.

Ziel ‘Singing Ziel’ Cain of New Prospect Primary placed second while Jontial ‘De man Jon-T’ Burke of Paradise Primary placed third.

In the Secondary School category of the Calypso competition, Kristiana ‘Singing Kristy’ Christopher of Thomas Saunders Secondary emerged the winner with her song “Fragmentation”.

Second place went to Damian ‘Boney Man’ Noel of St. Martin’s Secondary, with third place going to Daleann ‘Lady Dale’ Nero of Sandy Bay Secondary.

Meanwhile, the Junior Soca Monarch 2017 is M’riah ‘Young Saiah’ Robertson of West St. George Secondary, who sang “Carnival Hot”.

Kristiana ‘Singing Kristy’ Christopher of Thomas Saunders Secondary placed second while Delisha ‘Soca D’ Brackin of Sandy Bay Secondary took the third spot.
