Grenada’s National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) says the active underwater volcano Kick ’em Jenny has reverted back to alert level yellow.

According to a statement from the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre, since activity was recorded on March 9 and intensified on March 12, the level of seismicity has steadily declined.

Based on this, the alert has been downgraded.

At this stage, marine operators and the general public are therefore asked to be vigilant and observe the exclusion zone of 1.5 kilometers.

Kick ’em Jenny is an active submarine volcano located 8 kilometers north of Grenada.

NaDMA in collaboration with the UWI- Seismic Research Centre will continue to monitor the activities of Kick em’ Jenny and will update the public as necessary should there be any changes.
