Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness is expected to announce his Cabinet sometime later today.

Jamaicans have been waiting with anxiety for the announcement of the Cabinet, following the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) 32-31 win over the People’s National Party (PNP), in the February 25th general election.

According to the Jamaica observer, there has been much speculation about the size of the Cabinet, however, it is expected that the Prime Minister will be guided more by his government’s need to meet the challenges of its slim majority, the exigencies of his campaign commitments and the need to complete the four-year Extended Fund Facility agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

An important new development in the Cabinet will be the establishment of a Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
