A senior member of the Islamic State group was killed in an American drone strike in Syria last month, according to the US military.

It says Tariq bin al-Tahar bin al-Falih al-Awni al-Harzi was responsible for coordinating suicide bombings in Iraq and moving weapons from Libya to Syria.

The US had offered a $3million reward for the man it called the “emir of suicide bombers”.

Islamic State has not commented on the reports of his death.
