Things appear to be looking well, in terms of visitors’ arrival for this year’s Vincy Mas.

Minister of Tourism and Culture, Cecil McKie said on Tuesday that all indications show that Vincy Mas is growing year after year, and as such attention needs to be paid to other things that can be done to facilitate and entertain the growing number of persons coming to our shores.

Speaking at a press conference hosted by the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), on Tuesday, Minister McKie said two private charter flights organized to bring home Vincentians and visitors from the United States of America and Canada for Vincy Mas 2017 are sold out.

He said the private charter flights originate from JFK International Airport in New York, and Toronto, Canada.

Minister McKie said the booking on other airlines such as Caribbean Airlines (CAL) and LIAT are showing good numbers of persons travelling to St. Vincent and the Grenadines for the Carnival period. He added that reservations bookings at hotels here by visitors are also going well.

Meanwhile, Minister McKie is appealing to visitors and locals to play a part in ensuring that Vincy Mas 2017 is a safe one, with minimal criminal or violent incidences.
