The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) says, through its Fiscal Management Division, it will conduct the Regional Fiscal Policy Dialogue and the Third International Forum of the Decentralization and Subnational Fiscal Management Network of Latin America and the Caribbean in São Paulo, Brazil on the “Improvement of Management and Quality of Public Expenditure” at different levels of government.

The Washington-based financial institution said regional finance ministers will on Monday discuss the Regional Fiscal Policy Dialogue, “Improving the Management and Quality of Public Expenditure.”

The dialogue seeks improvement of the management and quality of public spending in the region, mechanisms to reduce inefficiencies in public spending and curb corruption, improving allocative efficiency, management of infrastructure investment and social investment, as well as the role of new fiscal institutions to improve the quality of spending, the IDB said.

According to the IDB, the Third International Forum of the Decentralization and Fiscal Management Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) will include the participation of specialists and policy makers.
