Health care has in recent years become a top priority in the bilateral relations between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China on Taiwan.

This is according to Taiwan’s Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, His Excellency Baushuan Ger, speaking at a ceremony earlier this week where four ambulances valued some EC$500,000 were officially handed over to the Ministry of Health.

Ambassador Ger disclosed that the Taiwan International Corporation Development Fund (ICDF) has just initiated to introduce another major medical center in Taiwan to partner with St. Vincent and the Grenadines on a new primary health related project.

He said the Ministry of Health and the Taiwanese ICDF will discuss the details of this cooperation before they launch later this year.
The Taiwanese Ambassador further noted that six Vincentians are currently studying medicine in Taiwan and three of them are expected to return to this state later this year for internship.
