A High Court judge in Guyana has sentenced a 39-year-old cameraman to 25 years in jail after he was found guilty of raping his 13-year-old relative.
Justice Navendra Singh imposed the sentence on Andre Hetsberg, a cameraman who was attached to TV Guyana, Channel 28, after it took the jury just a few hours to unanimously return the guilty verdict.
The two-day trial was held in camera and the convicted man reportedly broke down in tears after the judge passed the sentence.
