Grenada police have formally charged a man with murder in the death of a 36-year-old University professor, whose partly decomposing body was discovered last weekend.

A brief police statement said that Akim Frank, who had been named as a person of interest and had surrendered to law enforcement authorities on Friday, was charged with the death of Canadian born Professor Linnea Veinotte, who taught at the American owned St. George’s University.

She had been reported missing after leaving her home on December 5th.

The Grenada police it will hold a news conference later today on the matter.
