The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines signed an agreement with Rainforest Seafood at the VIP Lounge of the Argyle International Airport yesterday.

Rainforest Seafood is the Caribbean’s largest processor and supplier of premium quality seafood. The agreement will create an establishment of a fish packaging facility here.

According to News784, the company with headquarters in Jamaica will construct a state-of-art processing facility valued at 9 million E.C dollars.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves last year said the company will engage in the export of seafood products and, in smaller quantities, service the tourism market in St Vincent.

The St Vincent factory will be approximately 20,000 square feet and equipped to process multiple species of seafood indigenous to SVG including, but not limited to, lobster, conch, tuna, snapper, and other fishes.
