The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines has requested technical assistance from the United States authorities in investigating the murder of Antonia “Toni” Rose-Carter who was found murdered in Queen’s Drive on Friday June 15, 2018.

The 69-year-old woman was here in St. Vincent for her mother’s funeral.

Her body was found bound and hanging at the home of her brother, Dexter Rose.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said in Parliament yesterday that the assistance of the US authorities was requested due to the circumstances surrounding the murder, and the fact that Mrs. Rose-Carter has dual citizenship for St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the United States.

The Prime Minister said a preliminary report on the murder has been sent off, and they are now awaiting a response from the US authorities.

Prime Minister Gonsalves noted that when he was first briefed by the Police about the murder of Mrs. Rose-Carter, who worked in the New York State administration, he could not make sense of it, and was moved to wonder if this was the start of some new type of strange killing here.
