A Welcome parade was held at the Argyle International Airport this morning, to welcome the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Akufo Addo, currently in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on a two day state visit.

His Excellency Akufo Addo delivered a lecture address at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, to an audience comprising of students, Business executives, representatives of civil society and the Ghanian Association of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Following today’s lecture – there will be a special sitting of parliament – expected to take place at the House of Assembly in Kingstown, from 2:15 this afternoon.

The Ghanian President will also pay a visit to the Botanical Gardens, for a tour and tree planting ceremony at 3:20 and at 5:00 p.m. – there will be a joint media briefing by the President and Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves at Cabinet.

The media briefing will be followed by a reception at the official residence of the Prime Minister, from 7 this evening.

Tomorrow Thursday June 13th, the President and his delegation, will tour the Argyle International Airport, before leaving the state.

The republic of Ghana and St. Vincent and the Grenadines established diplomatic relations, on August 1st 2008.
