Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the National Geothermal Energy Plant here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is now scheduled to be commissioned in April 2019, instead of by the end of 2018 as was previously indicated.
He made the disclosure while speaking at a press conference at Cabinet Room, yesterday.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gonsalves in commenting on his recent signing of an agreement with officials from the Abu Dhabi fund for Development, for a US $15 million dollar loan said the monies will go toward the government’s Geothermal Energy project.
Dr. Gonsalves said the process to draw down the funds will begin when the first well is drilled.
