Thirty-three students have received bursaries to assist them in accessing their tertiary education at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.

The bursaries valued EC$500 per student, were disbursed under the Access to College Education Programme (ACEP), of Generation Next Inc., a youth-based charity organisation.

Generation Next Inc. an initiative of Senator Carlos James was launched about five years ago, and over the years more than 50 students have benefitted from the Access to College Education Programme.

Addressing yesterday’s handing over ceremony at the Methodist Church Hall, in Kingstown Senator James who is Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly said the Access to College Education Programme has now expanded to include students from communities outside of North Leeward.

Senator James thanked the various donors who have made it possible for the programme to continue.

Remarks at the ceremony also came from Senator Deborah Charles, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education commended Generation Next for their Access to College Education Programme.
