Last Friday three Primary school students competed in the WEFM Radio, 99.9 annual Independence Civics Competition.

The competition which was into its third year aimed to test the knowledge and understanding of Primary school students’ as it relates to important matters about St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The finalists were Ceronique Mitchell of Buccament Government School, who placed first place with 11 point, Shea-Anna Samuel of Clare Valley Government School taking second place with 10 points and Jaynae Edwards of Questelles Government School in third place with 9 points.

Last year’s defending school was Buccament Government School who walked away again the champion.

This year’s Civics competition was sponsored by Searchlight Newspaper, Log Enterprises Limited, Courts St. Vincent Limited, SVG Teachers Co-operative Credit Union, Vita Malt, Cecil Ryan and the Gaylene Windsor Foundation.
