Forty four Ecuadorian teachers today commenced a seven month programme at the Villa campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, designed to improve the competency of these Ecuadorian English Teachers.

The first three months will focus on English as a second Language, while the next three months will focus on Teaching of English as a Second Language.

The final month will be a practicum attachment in Vincentian schools.

Other Ecuadorian teachers will be simultaneously attending classes at the Dominica State College and the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus in Barbados.

A welcome Ceremony to mark the start of the Teach English Programme was held this morning at the Villa Campus of the Community College, and heard remarks from Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves and other officials.
