The East Caribbean Group of Companies (ECGC) Foundation Inc., has presented bursaries to four students of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Open Campus.

Mrs. Deborah Dalrymple, Head of the UWI Open Campus, in her remarks at the handing over ceremony held yesterday at the UWI Open Campus conference room said that the ECGC has generously agreed to grant EC$2,000 to all four recipients.

She said the students’ grades had to be in good standing to be selected and that many of the UWI Open Campus students are adult learners who have to juggle with managing time and family.

Meanwhile, representative of the board of directors of the ECGC, Mr. Dixon Findlay said the ECGC Foundation Inc. has been making a great contribution towards the education of young people here and has so far made 12 contributions to the Open Campus of EC$24,000.

The bursary recipients are Karla Gellizeau who is pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Early Childhood Development and Family Studies, Tamara Browne who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Accounting, Shurlon Creese who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management Studies with a specialization in Human Resource Management and Kaziah Lorraine who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Management Studies with a specialization in Marketing.
