The Rottweiler that killed a five-month-old baby in Trinidad remained at the child’s Charlieville home yesterday, being cared for by family members.

The dog was chained to a fence near the bloodstains of his victim Maleek Khan.

According to the Trinidad Express, relatives said the dog would be handed over to the Chaguanas Borough Corporation to be put to sleep.

The baby boy was attacked by the family pet outside their home at Jameel Trace, Charlieville, on Tuesday afternoon.

In the aftermath of the incident, the Daily Express reported that some Trinidadians believe that the Dog Control Bill should include the Rottweiler breed, on the list of dangerous dogs.
