The Department of Culture in the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture held a special lecture this morning for schools in the community of Calliaqua and surrounding areas.

The educational presentation on the life of this country’s First Premier and Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Milton Cato, and in remembrance of Ms. Phyllis Punnett, the writer of the words of our country’s National Anthem, was organized as part of activities for National Heroes and Heritage Month which is being observed in the month of March.

This programme was held at the Calliaqua Anglican Church Parish Hall.

Meanwhile, on Thursday March 23, a Remembrance Service will be held in honour of the Honourable E.T. Joshua, First Chief Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Cultural Officer in the Department of Culture, Mr. Anthony Theobald told WEFM News that the event on Thursday will be held at the Kingstown Cemetery beginning at 4:00pm.
