An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 rattled three Caribbean islands on Sunday night, but there were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.

The Trinidad-based Seismic Research Centre at the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said the quake occurred at 9.25 pm at a depth of 10 kilometers.

It said the quake was felt 83 kilometers northeast of Fort-de-France, Martinique, 106 kilometers east south east of Roseau, Dominica and 125 kilometers north east of Castries, St. Lucia.

In recent weeks several Caribbean countries have experienced earthquakes of various magnitudes and the Seismic Research Centre has warned the region to be prepared for a major quake.
