Caribbean Airlines (CAL) is planning to begin operating flights between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the United States in early 2018.

Speaking on radio last week, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said that according to information received from the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SVG Tourism Authority, Glen Beache, CAL is looking to operate flights via a Trinidad-St. Vincent- New York, route.

Dr. Gonsalves said on STAR FM that CAL is currently awaiting approval from aviation authorities in the United States for it to operate this new route, sometime after mid January 2018.

The Prime Minister also said that American Airlines is hoping to begin operating flights between Argyle International Airport and Miami, Florida.

Discussions in that regard are still being finalized.
