The Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) says it will soon begin an extensive runway rehabilitation project at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA).

Officials told Caribbean News Service, that the work will take place over a four to six month period with a total capital investment of just under US$20 million dollars.

For the duration of the project, LPIA will operate as a single runway facility and according to NAD contingency plans are in place to reduce the impact to overall operations.

Once completed, the project will result in upgrades to asphalt, which will extend the life of the runways at LPIA.
