The month of April is being celebrated as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, and will see issues relating to child abuse taking center stage here.
The Ministry of Social Development, which is responsible for Child Care and Development, will be hosting a number of activities throughout the country to highlight this issue.
In a national address yesterday, Minister of Social Development- Frederick Stevenson, said his ministry will be conducting a year-long sensitization drive, in an attempt to reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect.
Minister Stephenson said it is the responsibility of every individual to report any suspected case of child abuse.
