The Garifuna Heritage Foundation will be hosting an International Garifuna Symposium tomorrow at the Peace Memorial Hall as part of its celebration of National Heroes and Heritage month 2016.
The Symposium is scheduled to commence at 9:00 am.
President of the Garifuna Heritage Foundation, Mr. David “Darkie Williams says the keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Rawle Gibbons, Director, Playwright and former Head and senior lecturer at the Centre for Creative and Festival Arts, at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, in Trinidad.
Mr. Williams said Mr. Gibbon’s presentation will look at the Caribbean Indigenous Experience as Part of the Caribbean Cultural Identity.
