Minister of Economic Planning and Sustainable Development, Camillio Gonsalves says the aftermath of hurricane Irma should open avenues for mature conversations on coastline preservation and proper enforcement of the building code in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

He made the comment while speaking at a press conference on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Cabinet room.

Minister Gonsalves was a member of a recent delegation, led by Minister of Agriculture, Saboto Caesar, to the islands affected by Hurricane Irma.

“Utter devastation” was the phrase Minister of Economic Planning, Hon. Camillo Gonsalves, used to describe the aftermath of hurricane Irma on the BVI and Anguilla.

Meanwhile, Minister Caesar said that a request for fruit trees and livestock has been made in the affected areas and the Ministry of Agriculture would be happy to assist as soon as some order is restored.
