The National Insurance Services (NIS) would be hosting a training session on the CARICOM Social Security Agreement on March 16th and 17th, 2016.

The official opening ceremony will begin at 9am at the NIS conference room.

The overall purpose of the training is to provide Member States with the necessary technical capacity to effectively operate the CARICOM Social Security Agreement.

Participants would have a better understanding of the Social Security systems; gain knowledge of the Agreement; and understand how to operationalize the Social Security System.

The sessions would be facilitated by Dr. Olivia Smith, Deputy Programme Manager, for Free Movement and Labour, at the CSME Unit; and Ms. Sandra Bart, Legal Officer, at the CARICOM Secretariat.

Executive Director of the NIS, Mr. Reginald Thomas would be one of the co-trainers.
