The National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, in conjunction with the Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Forestry, Fisheries and Industry will be hosting two activities regarding the Proposed South Coast Marine Management Area project.

A National Consultation will be held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Parish Hall in Calliaqua, on Thursday November 12th, from 5:30 pm.

This National Consultation aims among other things to sensitize stakeholders on the Management Plan; including recent work completed on the Mooring, and Zoning and legal aspects of the plan, and to gather input to enable the design of a sustainable and implementable management plan to coordinate the future activities of the area.

The second event will be a National Tertiary Level Debate to be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture as part of activities for Tourism Month 2015.

The National Tertiary Debate will take place at the Community College Lecture Hall, at Villa, on Thursday November 19th, from 5:00 pm.

Students will debate the Topic: “From the mountain to the sea: advancing a socio-economic and ecosystem-based approach is critical to the sustainability of the South Coast Marine Management Area.”
