A Community consultation will be held tomorrow to disseminate project updates, and gather input for inclusion in the Management Plan for the proposed South Coast Marine Management Area.
This area encompasses the coastal and marine areas from Villa Point to Johnson point. This area includes of 3 major bays (Indian Bay, Calliaqua, and Blue Lagoon), 3 river basins and several coastal communities.
The theme of tomorrow’s consultation is ‘Preserving Biodiversity and Pride in the South Coast Community’ with the slogan, ‘The South Coast Marine Management Area – It’s a Beautiful Thing.’
The National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority, in conjunction with the Fisheries Division is inviting residents, community organizations, business operators of Ratho Mill, Calliaqua, Villa, Indian Bay and surrounding communities to this Community Consultation, which will be held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Parish Hall, at Calliaqua, from 5:30 pm.
