Six finalists have been selected to represent their respective Secondary Schools in the Lions Club South/Flow sponsored National Secondary Schools’ Public Speaking competition, slated for Wednesday 23rd October, 2019 at the Kingstown Methodist Church Hall.

The selection came following presentations from seventeen students at four preliminaries held during the period the 1st to the 4th of October 4th October 2019.

They are:

  1. Rishona James – St. Vincent Girls High School
  2. Eldonte Samuel – Bishop College Kingstown
  3. Danielson Ferguson – St. Vincent Grammar School
  4. Sharyan Bowman – Mountain View SDA Academy
  5. Vickron Alexand er – Union Island Secondary School
  6. Stephen Lavia – Intermediate High School

Each of the students will discuss the topic: “Should individuals who claim to be LGBTQ be afforded all human rights prescribed under international law”?

The winners will receive the Lion Michael De Freitas Challenge trophy among other prizes and scholarships from our sponsor.
