Seventeen Students were on Monday presented with scholarships to pursue tertiary level education in Taiwan.

Speaking at the Presentation Ceremony on Monday Taiwan Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Baushuan Ger said that a total of 19 students were rewarded with scholarships but because of personal reasons 2 of the recipients would not be taking the opportunity to study in Taiwan.

The Taiwan Scholarship program was launched in 2004 and so far, 126 students have been awarded with scholarships.

The Ambassador said 17 will go to Taiwan to pursue studies in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, International Finance, Agriculture, Economics, Pharmaceutical, International Tourism and Hospitality, Nursing and Medicine.

The ambassador further stated that there would be an increase in scholarships for students to study in Taiwan and he expects to see more students taking advantage of this opportunity.
