One thousand six hundred and forty two registered grade six students, wrote the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) on Friday 19th May 2017, at seventeen examination centers across the country.

Minister of Education, St. Clair Jimmy Prince took to Facebook on Thursday to wish the students all the best in their exam on Friday.

More males than females have registered for this year’s CPEA. There are seven hundred and ninety-nine (799)  females registered, while eight hundred and forty-three (843) males are registered.

The CPEA, which replaced the Common Entrance Exam in 2014, is administered by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC). It is comprised of a course work component and takes into consideration student performances in earlier primary school life.

The exam on Friday, is the final assessment in the process.
