The Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines yesterday continued its thrust towards ensuring that Vincentians are able to acquire ownership of the lands on which they have constructed homes.

One hundred and sixty two residents of Keartons, Three Acres and Bottle and Glass in the Central Leeward constituency were presented with letters of offer for housing lots at a ceremony at the Barrouallie Learning Resources Center.

Parliamentary representative for Central Leeward, Maxwell Charles said squatting was a problem in this country but the Unity Labour Party (ULP) administration have to a large extent corrected this problem since coming to office.

He said the government’s offer of the lands at 50 cents per square foot is very reasonable.
